Hi everyone! I'm new around here. I ran across this site while looking for information on fishing/boating West Bay...GREAT SITE!
Well, as the title says...my family is staying in Sea Isle for a week-long vacation starting next week (6/10/12 - 6/17/12). This is our 2nd annual Father's Day tradition. We are bringing a 18.5' Seaswirl Striper (D/C) to cruise the bay, drop some crab traps and (hopefully) do some serious fishing!
My experience with West Bay is very limited. We did some crabbing & some limited fishing last year, but I wasn't too comfortable venturing out very far. I (accidentally) found some of the very shallow water a couple of times ;-)
So...here is my question: Can y'all recommend a guide (or someone very knowledgeable in West Bay) that I could hire to spend a few hours with me in my boat & show me how to stay safe & catch a few fish in West Bay? Kind of like a "fish & learn" type of thing? What should something like this cost?
Keep in mind that I am no longer a super serious fisherman. We sold our boat like 4 yrs ago. I have only been fishing a handful of times since then. The boat we will have in Sea Isle belongs to my in-laws.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
