  • Shoalwater Plug Emergency! Help!

Tres went to launch his boat this evening and one of his plugs in his Shoalwater 16 Flats is missing. These are screw in plugs. He scrawed in a wad of duct tape for now, and a wine cork might fit well, but we really need a long term fix. Anyone know where to get a couple of these plugs? I've never seen plugs like this anywhere before, just on this boat. I'm headed down there tomorrow afternoon and I'd like to get at least one before I get there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You, Sandy

Don't know about these Coach is looking for, but mine were brass regular thread plugs.

Naw, these are plastic or PVC. They screw in and have a rubber gasket. They have a tab on the back you hold with your thumb and finger to scraw it in and out.

Would a regular drain plug work? I have some that you push in and then tturn right to tighten in the drain hole. These are brass with rubber on the outside. No gasket cause the rubber expands when you tighten it. No threads on the rubber part.

If you find the right one a post a photo if you have time, I'm curious to see what the plug looks like.

X2 I thought those would work on any boat.

Just got back from Wal Mart. All they had were the usual jon boat plugs. These things are about 1/2 inch wide, maybe a little bigger, but the standard plugs will not fit. They're too big.

If they're the threaded ones you can probably get an NPT (National pipe thread) PVC or Galvanized fitting at the hardware store that will work until he's able to get another one. Just wrap it in teflon tape and screw it in there.

I have them on my Marshall call him and ask him what plug he uses. They are black with a red o-ring and when you unscrew them they have two plastics prongs that keep them attached to the drain holes. You can borrow one of mine my boats at lutes let me know coach. I won't be fishing this weekend anyway
