  • Evansmarine Here's what I'm dealing with

    Here's the model number and a pic of the bolt I need to extract that bolt had a knob on it before to adjust height of trolling motor.

    Not clear on what the problem is. Looks like you could gently work it out with vice-grips and some penetrating oil. The trolling motor shop at FTU may have the replacement part.

        I have seen guys pour brake fluid on seized bolts and let them soak. Sometimes the bolt heats up and can be backed out.

        Couldn't tell you how it works, but it does.

          Don't get carried away, but you might try giving it a couple of whacks with a hammer. You know what they say, if at first you don't succeed, get a bigger hammer.

              Heat it with a bottle torch. Nock it around all sides, I have special extractors but vise grips should work

                Soak it, heat it mildly,cool it fast,repeat steps untill your determination proves your will is stronger and you win!!!...FTU for the new bolt, antiseize to prevent reaccurance!Fishing trip for me! ​priceless!

                        If you cant get it out bring it by my houe and I can weld a ss nut on it.

                          The bolt might be pressed in, if it wont unscrew the try knocking it out from the threaded with a hammer, Good Luck!!
