Saturday i took superspook ( danny ) , hmaier ( harvey) , in my boat to moses lake . Termo ( john ) and curmudgeon ( bruce ) went in john's boat . Harvey and john were to school me on moses lake . We met at the ramp at 6 am , wind e,ne 5-12 mph, sunny to partly sunny , water 53 degrees , air 65 degrees , outgoing until noon , incoming until 9:30 pm , good water clarity most areas .

We drifted spots in moses first with no bites , then went to the oyster reef lease outside the flood gates . It was bumpy out there and no catches except harvey's massive black drum . He was weak in the knees , exausted , back hurt and light headed after a prolonged battle with the leviathon .

that thing was huge, almost yanked him put out of the boat on its first run! I think I tweaked my back netting it.
the fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad.

John led the way to dickenson where we drifted shell and picked up some trout and reds . I landed 3-4 19 inch reds and a few trout . Harvey had some trout .

You guys had some nice trout and a redfish, too and you post a pic of Harvey and a big ugly (or should that be a drum and a big ugly )? Water was 48 when we launched in Moses Lake and outside the gate in the morning the water temp was 49. That incoming tide in the evening brought the magic 55 degrees (water) with it and it was FISH ON! Really enjoyed meeting and fishing with you Henry! Let's do it again soon.

No box shots, plugger? If we'd been in calcasieu, we wouldn't have been able to close the lid on the box. 12 keeper trout and a nice slot red. Threw back around 9 or 10 and I missed another 15. Not complaining though.

That bite slowed down and we went back to moses and fished several spots with nothing . Danny was moaning and lying on the deck with his back spasms . He was game but couldn't take it any longer and i dropped him off at the ramp mid afternoon . Of course we started to catch fish after that . We went back out to where we caught fish in the morning and with the incoming tide and warming day , had a more consistant bite .
