  • Skunked at Arcadia Reef

Launched my kayak at the end of the road by cedar cut this morning at around 6:30. Pretty good wind out of the SW. Fished the cuts in the lower end of Arcadia reef. Had one small speck that got off (hit plum/chart bass assassin on chart jig) and that was it. Floated back up about halfway to Ernie's, and didn't find any luck there. One guy I talked to had caught one undersized speck on a topwater and had a couple of small blowups. I was out of the water at 11:30.

Not a bad morning. I was mostly trying out my new kayak, and it seems to be pretty good. Will bag some fish next time.

    Anybody else fare better?

Forgot to mention. Tons of mullet and shrimp around. Just couldn't find much chasing them!

Sounds like you like the yak, so that's a good thing.
