Took the family down to Galveston this weekend for the sand castle competition. Was able to get out early Saturday morning for a quick 2 hour wade...solo.
I was committed to throwing top waters...and stuck to one spot as I needed to get back to the dock pretty early. Threw a bone colored Spook Jr and managed 1 speck that went 21". Outgoing tide, light winds and plenty of bait. I did manage 2 other hook ups that both came unhooked along the way. Several other blow ups. Tied on a soft plastic on the way back to the boat and didn't get a look.
As an aside, we won't be going back to the sand castle comp next year. Place was a ZOO! Took us 1 hour to get in to to the East End park...and about the same amount of time to get back out. No thanks!
