  • New Boat - Which GPS to buy?

Hey Guys - Im going down to Waypoint to test drive, and probably buy, a shoalwater cat 20. I need some help in deciding on which Lowrance GPS to buy. This is my first boat so trying to keep things relatively simple. Ill be fishing galveston, west bay, freeport, matagorda. Ive been looking at the Elite Ti, Gen 3, or HDS 7. any guidance you can provide would be most appreciated.

    thanks a ton

    Check out the simrad Go9

Lowrance is more for fresh water

Either way get the Navionics platinum plus. Well worth it
It’s like driving on google earth. That has saved me many times

I have a Lowrance hds5. Small screen, but has good, depth/fish finder, and overlay of the bays. I would get a bigger screen if i bought another one. It does all 8 want it to do.

I looked that up , pricey at $3,500 , but , it sure looks nice and 12 inch screen. Makes me want one to build a boat around it .
