    Anyone know how many 1/4 oz jig heads an 8"x4"x2" lead brick would make?

      If it weighs say 50lbs that's 800 oz -- times 4 would be 3200. That's my uneducated guess -- 3200 --thereabouts.

            8x4x2 = 64 Cubic Inches of lead...

            1 cubic inch of lead weighs just over 4.55 ounces

            4.55 x 64 = 420 ounces in the lead brick

            420 ounces x 4 = 1680

            Is my math wrong here?

              You're probably a lot closer than I am -- I just took a big guess..

              420 oz is ~26 lbs -- just figured it'd be a bit heavier than that but I cant say that I've ever picked up that much lead so I'm not sure...

                  I am pretty sure between 8 or 9!! Any more and you haven't calculated for molecular evaporation which occurs when lead reaches its melting point due to the ionic burn off of the parent metal. Also you need to add in the coeffiency factor which mean you will need to know the metallic properties of the metals of the casting and the pouring device. basically it is the friction factor. Shopulod be a number o around .06 to .07. Once you have that you can run the calculations and come up with an accurate number for your Brick of lead. Ive ran those number twice and still come up with 8-9. Basically 3 packs of lead heads. Thats why they cost so much to begin with. Coe all of your cave man division just doesnt address all the real math "Physics" involved in this formula. I hope this helps. BTW I'll take 3 pack o those lead heads sounds like a bargain.

                    Coe is right! And no I haven't started. It was free and it's darn heavy for it's size.
