  • Great day sight casting

Fished with Torrey Hawkins and his buddy Toby. We were overdue for a good day and got one. Started a little slow looking at an area where I found a few good schools yesterday but they didn't want to eat. Moved to some areas the have been holding some good reds and we went to work on the for the rest of the day. Not many schools but plenty of single fish swimming. We landed 8 or 9 reds up to 25 inches. The best part of the day was at our last stop, in an area where I have been seeing some really good trout, Torrey got a 27 inch fish to take the fly in about 10 inches of water.

It was just one of those days where things came together. We spooked the fish and Torrey only had one shot as she was swimming away. A very well placed cast and she launched on the fly. Always an incredible sight in shallow water and she put on a great show jumping and head shaking as she ran.

Lots of cool eats today from the redfish with several charging down the fly. Doesn't get much better. Of course the trout was released, along with all of the reds.
