Can anyone give me some advice about how to safely cross Jones Lake from Fat Boys to get to the ICW and on to Greens or Carancahua Lakes?

How much water do you draw? If you have a deep draft boat just take the channel out to the intracoastal by the causeway and hang a right. If not, the safest way is to go towards the bridge and around the south side of the little islands (between the houses and the islands). It's pretty shallow getting across the flat just past the islands but after that you're good till you get down almost to harborwalk. Just watch for the marked reefs. Stay a 100 to 150 yards off the north shoreline of jones and you should be good. Once you get down there you'll have to enter the intracoastal through the channel outside the diversionary. I'll see if I can mark up a google map for you so you can see all this. Whole area is pretty shallow so you have to use caution till you get used to the area.
    Shut up and FISH!!
