  • Great day on the flats.

First trip of the year, we launched at Conn Brown at 11:30 and made our first stop at 11:45. We stayed at our first spot for 15 minutes without a bite and moved about a quarter mile away and spent the rest of the day there. We caught over 40 reds with 10-12 inside the slot limit. We put six between 22-26 inches in the box. Fishing was so fast and furious that we didn't have time to drink much beer. We quit at 2:30 and had the boat on the trailer by 3pm. The sun was bright, the bay was flat and it wasn't too hot, what a great day. We used up over a pound of dead shrimp and left while the bite was still hot.

Nice, I had to do a double take at where you were fishing because I know west bay is not producing those nice reds right now. Thanks for the report.
