sunday cast and blast

Since the Texans game got interesting, we got on water a little late. Our cast and blast got downgraded to just a blast. I did see a bunch of bait still holding in the cuts and drains leading out of payton's bay. The fish still should be in there as long as the water keeps falling out. The hunt was ok. We shot 7 of our 12 duck limit. The redheads just aren't here yet.

Wierd thing is I have never shot a Red Head or even seen one around here n the Upper Coastal Marshes, we shot a drake and a hen this past weekend. Really great looking birds, nice to see something other than Black Mallards, Greys, and Teal in the dekes lol

I know what you mean. I grew up hunting old and lost rivers and upper trinity. The redheads and pintails down here are your sure thing birds. Then you end your limit with a bluebill or two and mottled ducks
