Looks like we might be regulars on the West End, buying some property in Bay Harbor, grew up fishing San Luis Pass, parents bought the Old Moody House on Mud Island in 1948, stood through Carla, hit by lighting the weekend before Alicia hit. I am looking forward to getting back to the fish on the West End. Need some direction where from this end of the island, I am good from the Coals Pass side, we never went into West Bay pass Bird Island, too many sand bars to get across. I have been hearing about the tire reef south of Chocolate, fished the West end a couple of times last summer, not much luck. Any direction or help would be great.

Try to meet as many members as you can and have time for. Most are pretty tight-lipped about their fishing spots, naturally. Try also to make a few of the meetings at Hooters and at least try to make it to Sea Isle for a beer at the bar every now and then (especially during tournaments). I hear there's some members hang out there a lot. Look for the ones on the floor!Captain, Galveston County Blue Team Fish Killers

Welcome to FWE
I've had more luck working birds or slicks in the open water than I have had fishing the Tire Reef. I've always stopped there and make a few drifts.
Maybe I am not fishing it right?Last edited by buoy37; January 19, 2014, 12:26 PM. Reason: Changed to past tense because I didn't get fish much in 2013
