Man it's been a tough year on gigging. I do a lot of gigging out of the Aransas Pass and Rockport area and we have had to work pretty dang hard for a box of fish. The high tides and hurricanes have made an impact this year. Hopefully when the season opens back up in December we will find some bigger fish.

It was an early season this year to get on flounder and get some limits. I got most of my limits early August thru most of the month then tapered out. I know most people tend to wait for the cold fronts but if you do that, you tend to miss out.

Hello, are there any folks familiar with wading for flounder around Bird Island Basin at PINS? If so, when are the best times of the year to walk around down there?

I have never gigged down there. I'd walk out there & see what you can find. You want to focus on tide movements. Walk the area you should be able to see imprints if there has been any in the area.
