    Performance:

The Solo Skiff is rated for 5hp, but most people put a 6 on them because the 4, 5, and 6hp engines are all identical except for the carb. Same size and weight.

My Solo with the Tohatsu 6 runs at about 15mph, and will hit 17mph lightly loaded on dead smooth water. It gets about 30 miles per gallon. I can go over 100 miles on my 3.3 gallon tank.

I can pole it freely in 2 inches of water, can run in 4, and can plane in 6. I can pole across water that is only an inch deep, but it takes another inch of water to be gliding.

Fully rigged, it weighs about 250 pounds. I trailer mine, but a lot of people carry them in the back of their trucks. The axle and hubs of my trailer have never been in the water.

I will get wet running in any chop. In the winter, I carry waterproof pants and jacket for running in chop, and take them off and store them below deck when I get on the flats.

The Solo will go where no one else can - too shallow for larger skiffs, and too far away from a launch for kayaks.

SKIFFSTIFF took this pic of me in my Solo last October.

And storage - oh yes - it will carry plenty. I have all of this below deck.
