When do trout show up in the surf ?
Is it based on water temps ? Seasonal pattern ?
Always wondered what the approx date range is for surf trout.
Any clues ?
thx

Gave it a go last week - surf was blown out, and got skunked in the bay. Pretty morning though.
And oh yeah, saw a live alligator swimming in the first gut, and eventually beached on the sand.

Glad you gave it a try. Thank goodness many mornings are pretty for us. Can't say I've seen an alligator on the beach.

Caught the surf on Bolivar with the right conditions been a long timewith the seaweed letting up a little. 4 of us were able to catch our limits of trout with some Spanish mackerel sprinkled in. Water was beautiful with an offshore wind
