  • Good surf Redfish rig?

I have tried almost everything i can get my hands on. What is a good red rig for fishing the surf. Homemade or bought is irrelevant. What do y'all suggest?

First, I'd suggest you go to the welcome board and introduce yourself.

I would tie an egg weight to my main line above my spro swivel and attach 30 lb flourocarbon to the bottom of the spro with a kahle hook on the business end!

How big of an egg weight and what number hook? My current rig is a #10 bait holder hook on a wire leader attached to a snap swivel. I typically use a 4 or 5 oz surf weight. My bait is either half medium shads or large mullet heads.

              I run 20 - 30 lb line on my reel. A 3 - 6 oz pyramid or triangle weight, a orange BB to a 3/0 brass swivel, 40 - 80 pound piano wire leader with a 3/0 - 5/0 kahle hook
