  • gigging trip

hi all! I'm new to the site and havent posted before. Me and a couple of buddy's went out last week and tried some gigging thanks to some info from a guy. We hit the SLP area and picked up 15. Dont know if this is a good haul or not, but we had a blast! never been giggin before but the guy I talked to gave me a great deal of info on what to bring and what to look for.

That would be a good haul unless your group is 10 people or something, LOL.

Welcome to the site. You're new here so I won't razz you about center-punching all those big ones

We know. You posted in on November 2 and said they were taken last week or weekend. Were not saying you took them in November.

Great haul and perfect timing. Just reminding everyone with my earlier post.

            Again heck of a haul!

Wow. After going back and looking at the picture I can tell you really are a no0B at flounder gigging but thats ok. Only experience will teach you shot placement.
Start gigging them in the gill plate. Don't hit the body and save those beautiful filets for the table.

Nice job on the flatties. Sometimes, when they are buried some, I have a tough time telling which side is the head and which is the tail. I'll gig em in the middle if I am not sure. Don't worry, you'll get the hang of it.
