surf update?

Has anyone fished the surf this week or heard of any reports of people fishing it?

No, but in a month or so it'll be getting to the time when I like to fish those 'ol dead skrumps, until May or so when the trash fish arrive.

I tried it out this morning. No bites on dead shrimp. No bait in the surf yet. It will be a month or so before the drum/sheepies turn on, then later the small smacks will come into the surf (feeding on the fry and tiny bait). I really don't catch many specks before June, but some folks say they do good earlier.

I usually start catching specks in the surf around end of april first of may but it has come earlier depending on water temps

Yeah, the surf isn't right for specks until it gets warm. Didn't have hardly any days last year that were good to be in the surf when I could fish. I'd rather fish the surf than anywhere when it is doable.

Me too plugger thats my favorite place to be!!if the fish aint bitin you're at the beach anyway its all good!
