  • redfish and black drum

left out of GYB this morning around 9 am
had my brother and nephew from Conroe with me
    south wind was steady 10 - 15
headed out to the boat cut to join the black drum fleet
HARD incoming tide had some fresh caught crab...28 - 30 ft of water
boat in front of me catchin... boat beside me catchin....
3 hours later we left the boat cut with nada....
moved to another spot up the channel and first bait down
50 pound black drum biggest fish my brother has ever caught
followed by another 40 - 50 pounder for my nephew his biggest ever
then the nephew hooks a 40 pounder on a trout rod wit 10 # test fought it about 30 mins
we moved to a nearby reef and and boxed 5 nice redfish all 25- 26 " guess i should have entered the black drum tourny..all in all great day back at GYB at 5...

Very nice...I've got to get my 8 year old on some of those big uglies before they quit running...I'll probably need to tie him in the boat, they weigh almost as much as he does!!
