I had the pleasure of spending my Christmas Day with a dad and college age son from the Big Lake area on a cast and blast. The temperature was in the 70's and a north wind of 25 mph, but the next 2 days are predicted to be in the 30's and out on the water that is cold. The clear blue skies are not days that are typically good duck hunting but we proved that wrong. We found our fish on mud and shell on the windward side of some islands, 4 reds and 7 black drum. They got several shots and 2 nice redheaded drakes and a hen on our hunt, there were probably 3-5 thousand ducks rafted up 300 yards from us. Thanks guys for a super afternoon and look to see you back again soon.
