    Morning All,

New to the forum AND to fishing West Bay.

Purchased a technical poling skiff and spent last Saturday in Green's Lake with (little to) no luck. 3 reds and 2 trout, all under the slot.

I primarily wade and drift and throw flies when the weather permits.

If anyone has any tips/tricks for someone new to West Bay I'm open to them, and I'll certainly drop mine when I get a good day.

    Tight lines!

    WELCOME !!
Nothing will advance your knowledge like time on the water paying attention to your surroundings. Having said that , HOOK N LINE fishing maps are advisable . If you really want to jump start your education of West Bay , a charter trip with a fishing guide knowable of West Bay with the object being to show you where to go when , safe routes , cuts , reefs , etc . , benefiting from years of their experience . I did just that with Capt. Steve Soule . Capt. Glen Stevens and Capt . Greg Francis are proven experts on West Bay as well . Check the home page and see FISHING GUIDES for names and phone numbers .

Welcome. My advice is to study a satellite image like google earth to see where the reefs sandbars are located (especially San Luis Pass area). May or may not help with catching fish, but will hopefully keep you from having a bad day.

Hey how is everyone. New to site but have been fishing Galveston for 30+ years. Run a 22' Pathfinder and have a passion for chasing reds.
