  • Two more drown at SLP

    Just caught this news alert...

Brazoria County deputies say two men have drowned after being caught in a rip current near San Luis Pass.

    Respect The Pass, friends.

I'm pretty sure there are signs every 50 feet or so.

Was at the SLP launch when Life Flight took the person away. Prayers for the family. They were not in the Pass proper, but on the beach side, around the former SLP Pier area from what I heard. They were body surfing. Very sad.

Just saw this. Scared me. I met a guy on 2Cool who moved here five months ago. He fishes saltwater all over the gulf. Was asking me last week about wading SLP. I warned him not to and told him about the drownings because of the currents and rip tides. He said he'd be ok because he wears a PFD. I thought sure this was about him. Glad to read it wasn't. So sad it keeps happening. These deaths need to be posted on the warning signs. Maybe it will have more affect. :-(
