I launched the kayak in East Bay yesterday and fished the south shoreline. The topwater bite was really good between 6:30a and 8. I had a blowup on my 2nd cast and steady action for about an hour. I caught 4 specks from 16" up. The largest was in the low 20s. All released. I lost two or three other fish after hooking up. I was wading in thigh to waist deep water fishing over mud and shell. All fish caught on a white super spook jr.
Winds from the south were relatively light early and picked up throughout the morning. Water was off color and got worse as the day went on, really sandy and churned up. Mosquitoes were unreal - thank goodness for long sleeve shirts and buffs. I still probably ate 50 of them.
