Yesterday was supposed to be: Winds out of the south 5 to 6 knots, it turned out to be 15 to 20 with periods of 25. We even got rained on a couple of times.
Bought some bait and launched at Conn Brown at 8AM and looked foreward to filling the boat with fish. We had about 18 fish calls and a small lunch. As soon as we got into the shrimp boat channel the wind kicked up to about 15 and we stopped first at one of the entrences to Lighthouse Lakes and tucked in out of the wind. Not even a nibble! So after a half hour, it was on to the next hot spot..............To make a long story short, after the same luck at the second spot, we started calling the fish and you know what they say: "If the first call doesn't work, keep calling, you will either catch fish or if you call enough you won't care."....We ended the day at 3PM with most of our bait, only one fish call left and the grand total for the day of one hard head. We were wind burnt, wet and sun burnt but otherwise happy.
Stopped by the project house on the way home and the sheetrockers were done, so the day was productive in another way....
Tight lines..
