A group of guys from work and my wife fished the Surfside Jetty last night from 10:00pm until about 5:30am. We fished the Gulf side under a pair of lights.
We spent all night catching and releasing small sand trout. Only two small specks showed up to the party. My wife hooked her biggest red to date. She reeled it in and as soon as it was brought up on the rocks, it came unhooked and the fish was gone! I looked to be somewhere in the low-twenties in length.
We all had a good time and need to do it again soon!
I would like to thank all FWE members that replied to my thread concerning the Surfside and Quintana Jetties. Last night was my first time trying jetty fishing and the tips and advice given made it a pleasurable experience.
