Wind: 10 knots ESE
Tide: Outgoing
Water Temp: 52-55 deg F
Water Clarity: Stained (<1 ft visibility)
Water Depth: 2-4 ft
Bottom: Soft Mud & Scattered Shell
Went back to East Bay with my brother to apply what I learned with AP... soft mud, scattered shell, and bait.
We were supposed to go on Tuesday, but made a last minute decision to fish on Monday instead. Got to the ramp about 8am and immediately tied on a Corky Fat Boy based on Friday's experience.
Took about an hour and a half before I hooked up with the first fish... a fat 22" trout. Next cast... twitch, twitch, pause: 1001, 1002, 1003, 100..BAM!!! A hefty 24" trout (photo/released). Action continued using that same retrieve until a boat whizzed by way too close to the flat that we were working, shutting down the action.
Oh well, we moved on to another mud flat but by this time the tide had stopped moving and the fishing was much slower. No trout... but we did get into the redfish. They liked my Fat Boy too!
Final tally... 4 trout from 21 to 24 inches, and two 22 inch redfish.
