Found some free time between work and classes so I took the oppurtunity to hit the water. My dad wanted some reds for the grill and I happily obliged. Finding them turned out to be suprisingly easy. They were sticking right by the large schools of shad. The problem turned out to be getting a hook in em. They kept short striking hackberries and TKS. I began to get frustrated after many lost hits and lost fish at the yak so I decided to sit back for a sardine and cracker break to clear my thoughts. With a full stomach and a renewed sense of confidence I tried Gulp! and that was the ticket. 4 inch ripple mullet. color didnt seem to matter much I threw a few diffrent colors all seemed to be fairly equal. Ended with a nice limit of reds the smallest being 22 largest 27 and a slam.(trout and flounder lived to die another day) all fish caught on the gulp on 1/4 ounce worked fairly slow.
