So i wake up Sunday around 5:30 am and notice my phone is blinking.. no missed call, but i do have a message. Its Bouy wanting to fishing. 2 quick calls to his cell get nothing but voice mail, oh well its time to wake up the family. Third call to the house phone and i hit pay dirt. Plans are made to meet at the ramp and do some scouting. As we approach our first spot we see birds everywhere, we ease into a group and they break up before we can make a cast. Rather than run around we just stay and drift, a couple of quick sandies and the action stops. Our drift is taking us right to another spot we saw birds working. In no time Bouy is hooked up with a good redfish, im on the net. I no sooner net the fish, hand it to him make a cast and im hooked up with a solid red also. After the we spent the next couple of hours checking out some other areas with little to show. Finally while drifting some shell we see some more birds getting up, and we ease towards them.
They quickly break up but we stay and drift, and it pays off with several small keepers and more sandies.
Off the water just after 11AM and home in time to watch the 2nd half.
