SUNDAY MORNING I MEET TERMO TO FISH WITH HIM USING HIS BOAT . THE MORNING WAS OVERCAST , BRIEF DRIZZLE , AIR TEMPERATURE REACHED 70 DEGREES , WATER GOT UP TO 61 DEGREES , ALMOST DEAD CALM WHIPPING UP TO 15 MPH IN THE LATE AFTERNOON NW , N AS THE FRONT STARTED TO PUSH THROUGH . IT WAS A ALMOST STANDING TIDE WITH SLIGHT OUTGOING FLOW , THEN REALLY STARTED MOVING OUT AROUND 11 AM . WE DRIFTED SOME PLACES IN MOSES LAKE WITH NO BITES . WE WENT OUTSIDE THE FLOOD GATES AND FOUND SLICK WATER AND AN ABUNDANCE OF BAIT AND TOPWATER FEEDING . MY FIRST 5 HOOKUPS CAME UNHOOKED AFTER A BRIEF PLAY , LANDED A TOO SMALL TROUT , HOOKED UP AND LOST A 6 th FISH . WE THOUGHT THAT WE WOULD BE CATCHING A LOT BUT THERE WAS ALMOST TOO MUCH BAIT . WE HAD SEVERAL THROW BACKS AS JOHN'S FACE TESTIFIES AS HE HOLDS A SMALL FISH . THESE FEEDING TROUT WERE MAINLY SMALL ONES .

John put on a super spook jr and caught a keeper , i put on a top and got a keeper but we struggled still . The bait started moving south and we tried moses lake again drifting john's known haunts since childhood . He told me some of his childhood memories fishing with his father and uncle . When he was ten they would take him and put him in a rubber tire ( i think ) and anchor him to the bottom with a cement block , live bait , and let him fish while they went elsewhere picking him up later . Man , did they get a scolding when mama found out ....har !
I picked up and released a 19 inch red . I put on a carrottop fat boy and john looked at me funny and laughingly asked if i ever caught any fish on that outlandish color . Two trout and 20 inch red later he was mumbling about having to order one . I gave him mine at the end of the day .
After that we tried outside the gate again but it was too windy . We briefly fished april fools point to get out of the wind and called it a day around 3 pm .GEORGE A. BRANARD, COLOR SERGEANT, CO. L, 1 ST TEXAS INFANTRY, HOOD'S TEXAS BRIGADE, C.S.A. : S.C.V.

I posted on Harvey's thread "Great Reports' (I think) about the brake fiasco. Got a good Corkie out of it! I don't know that ugly grey haired guy in Henry's pictures! (Notice he didn't take any of himself!0 HAR!Captain, Galveston County Blue Team Fish Killers

At the end of the day , john got his boat craddled on the trailer and i winched it tight and drove him out . I did not know that the emergency brake was on and after pulling him out , the truck had no to little breaks . I followed him for a few blocks and he pulled over saying this wasn't working . He sent me off to a convenience store where i bought three bottles of brake fluid . It drained out as fast as he put it in . So we hitched his boat to my truck and i followed him as he coasted home . His neighbor was around who was mechanically inclined and determined it was a rear brake cylinder . I killed john's truck . I feel so bad . Now john demands a new carrottop fatboy for all the grief and expense .
