west bay 6/13

hell on reels and i took off early this morning and drifted some mid bay reefs. the first couple of drifts didn't produce anything so i moved to some shallower water, 3 to 4 feet and saw a few slicks pop up. that was the ticket. we caught 6 reds to 29 1/2 inches and 4 trout to 24 inches. the largest red and trout were released. julie broke off something really big, probably a jack. we fed them live shrimp under mid coast corks.
i've pretty much decided i'd rather catch redfish than trout just because fried redfish throats are so freakin good.

Here's Michelle's 24", released. I would post my 29" red, but I was fishing in a sports bra and my stomach makes the fish look small. "Shrinkage" lol What a great summer morning!
