Friday morning I decided to beat the holiday weekend madness and go fish. Started fishing around 5:45 AM and within a few minutes found 2 schools of about a dozen tailing reds. Most of them weren't keepers, but I decided to stick with them and try to get one on the fly since the conditions were good for the long rod. After a few casts I hooked into one but quickly lost it. After they left, I moved on to continue searching. Saw a big wake pushing water so I threw a Bone Spook Jr. ahead of it. A couple twitches and there was the big hit and splash! Put up a nice fight and ended up being a nice FAT red. Released it to fight another day. On my way out, I caught a rat red on a TTF Red Killer. All in all a good day on the water and a great way to start the holiday weekend!
