Rookie to Galveston/West Bay... Tips appreciated!

Great site ya'll have here! I'm a new member to the site and was wondering if I could get some helpful tips on places to fish in West Bay and surrounding area... I've fished and had my boat in Rockport for a long time and brought it back to Houston finally. I launched out of Tiki island the other week and ran up into Greens Lake.. drifted and caught a few trout but I was gambling; it looked convenient and was close.. Also ran over to Sand Island but it was packed with boats....
I've got a 21' Shallow Sport and I'm just curious if there are any good lakes or areas I can run skinny and wade/drift... Any information is greatly appreciated!
