7-9-11 Report
Went out this past weekend with Galveston on the Fly. Put the kayaks in around 5:30 AM and got to the spot about an hour later. A little after getting there, I got a rat red on a bone spook jr. After going deeper into the cove, I brought in a 23" red on the same bone spook jr. At about 9, we decided to move to a different spot. Once we got there, we saw a bunch of tailing reds, however they were in some thick sea grass. GOTF caught a rat red on a bone/opening night bass assassin paddle tail. A little bit later, I caught a 25" red on a Geaux Glow Hackberry Hustler. (I had just bought them the day before.) This guy took off for Mexico once he hit it. I don't think I've ever had my drag scream like that before. After spooking some more fish we decided to get going since we knew we had a long paddle back into the wind. There was also a monster stingray that kept popping up around us. Ugly as hell.
