  • 7/25 -- 3 Generations of Fishermen

Took my wife, kids and my mom out yesterday afternoon for a few hours. We threw dead bait and caught quite a few different fish. Wound up with 14 croaker, 3 flounder and 1 black drum. We caught lots more small stuff, a snake eel and 2 sting rays as well. The kids and my mom had a blast! Mom is still a fishing machine at 73! Cooked the croaker up this afternoon for dinner -- forgot how good fresh fried croaker fillets taste!! The wind was blowing pretty good and the tide was ripping out -- we stayed in the mouth of the diversionary the whole time. Water was a balmy 87 degrees on the meter.

I really enjoy days like that. A few years back, we had 4 generations on the boat.

What size where the croakers? I haven't had some good big craokers in a while.

They were probably a lb or so -- not the biggest I've caught but plenty big to fillet and fry.

By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary.
