Jumped out of the boat in west bay around daylight Saturday morning. We had a half a dozen blow ups on top for the first hour or so of the day but couldn't get anything to stick. Switched to opening night assassins, moved a little deeper and started picking up keepers. We caught the last keeper around 1pm. Bite was slow and steady all morning. Released a couple of rat reds and a handful of undersized trout. Keepers were from 15-22, all caught in waist to knee deep water on plastics except for 1 15 inch trout on top.
Not a great catching day, but an awesome day to be on the water. I'm pretty sure I saw a tripletail in the middle of the bay on the way back to the ramp, turned around but he was gone...that's a first for me in wbay.
