With the luck I had yesterday, I figured I would go check out another spot I like to hook into solid reds. Well that didn't turn out to be the case, but I did catch some fish. The tide was rushing out, so I could not throw anything light. I was chunking a 1/4 oz. with a bayou chub in plum/chart. slow rolling it. With the current moving the way it was, there was no need to bump it off the bottom. The fishing was slow for a little while and then the tide started shifting and the speed of the current dropped dramatically, so much so that I got hung up on a cluster of oysters and lost my tackle. I went lighter, I went with an 1/8 oz.
The fishing picked up once the tide slowed and I hooked up into a few specks and a blue tailed rat red. Young reds have so much color in their tails. The bite was only on from 330 to 4 and then the bite just shut off. I tried for another 30 minutes with no success, so I called it at 430
