  • 9/6: Omega Bay

I came from work, grabbed my son, loaded the kayak and headed for Louis' bait camp. We picked up a pint of shrimp, paddled north toward Omega Bay and we caught some feetches until it got dark. Nothing to keep but that's fine. He lost a nice flounder right at the front of the kayak - the old Zebco has two drag settings, free spool and all stop. He saw it so it counted in his mind. It works like that when you're 4 (or.....ahem, 46).

Beautiful night. We were going to stop in the bait camp for dinner but it was packed. Not a chair available inside and the skeeters would have carried the boy off outside.

    Have a good weekend all.

Thanks for the report ! You have quite the fishing partner . Kids love fishing if they are catching anything . He'll remember these good times with dad . Maybe he'll return the favor when you are old .

This is what he did most of the time. A $9.50 pint of shrimp is cheaper than a movie and lasts longer.
