I went out Sunday and of coarse the water was still very low, But there where some fish to be found. Its been tough out there with these back to back northern fronts pushing the water out. It treacherous for how shallow the areas are and if you don't know the west end waters its probably best that you take things a little bit slower than usual as its a lower unit eater. I didn't leave till around 10 am so I missed the first light bite but started in deeper waters of 10-12 ft. around offets shell bottoms. found several schools of medium trout to 19 inches and a lot of 15-16 inch fish. I was going to do a little wade fishing but was too lazy. So I headed to the diversionary at the back of North Deer and drifted a couple of 3ft areas to 6ft areas and found some reds to 22". The trout where hitting solid chartreuse gulp squiggly tails with a chartreuse 1/8" jig worked fast on the pick up and the reds have been devouring the solid black with a lime tail hackberry hustlers on a 1/4" black jig head. Finished the day easing into Floyds at Harborwalk and picked up 6 more medium trout in the marina before calling it a day. The game wardens where out in force and it was good to see them patrolling west bay as im sure a lot of people needed assistance with the shallow water. I saw at least 3 boats stuck and guys in the water trying to push them to deeper areas. Keep safe and keep plugging.
