Headed down to sea isle this weekend to catch the weather window. Saturday morning started out a little foggy, but it wasn't too bad. The plan was to wade with Corkies then throw soft plastics the rest of the day. On the way to the spot the boat is running on only 2 cylinders and wont plane out. I just limped to our wading spot. Well first wade of the morning I jump out into water a few inches too high for my waders! After all that and putting a hook into my finger, I knew it wasnt gonna be my day. So I was soaked and freezing but fished on! We ended up with one little trout wading the edge of a channel. After that it was across the bay to a back lake which we drifted and my buddy caught a fat red but it was 19.5". He caught it on a trout killer 2. We then ran up a bayou on the way to another back lake when I put my boat up on the bank. Buddy and I pushed her off and eventually got to the back lake which was absolutely loaded with reds but couldn't buy a bite. Then we went and waded a channel until dark with soft plastics and managed a few trout and one keeper. Did some night fishing to no avail. Next morning we accidentally sleep in till 7:30 and head to that back lake and my brother loses a huge red and my buddy catches a 23". Decided to call it a day and start heading back around 1... Not the best weekend but still had fun!
