Wind - 5-10 south
Water was a little off color but very nice
Area - south shoreline coves
Tide - can't remember, but it was not high like usual
Jamin (Flapper), Donna and I had a good morning yesterday. Donna slept in, so Jamin and I left the dock at 6:00 am and hit the first cove. We were both throwing tops and things were slow around the grass lines, so we moved to the middle of the cove and we started catching a few keeper trout (15-18"). I went and picked up Donna at the house and went back to the same cove where Jamin was still catching them. Donna was throwing 3" new penny gulp and she started catching fish right out of the boat. Jamin and I switched to plastics and the trout just keep hitting, but we had to lose at least 10 keepers. Throwing Salt and Pepper, I caught a 24" red. Donna lost a HUGE flounder while trying to string it. Actually, I was helping her and the darn thing made one last attempt at freedom and made it! Left this cove and went to one other before calling it a day, things were slow and then picked up after a short time.
Totals
Jamin - 1 19" flounder, est. 10 keeper trout, kept 5 (16"-18") and threw back at last 10-15 dings
Donna - 3 flounder, lost 1, kept 1 (19.5"), 2 keeper trout, threw back 5 or so dings
Me - 1 24" red, est. 10 keeper trout, kept 5 (16"-18"). Threw back 5 or so dings. 1 flounder lost while trying to grab her.
This was all done before 1:00 pm, not a bad morning. BTW Jamin, my finger is black and blue this morning! Damn flounder!
