  • Afternoon at Chocolate

Took my wife and kids to Chocolate for the afternoon. My son caught two keeper trout on live shrimp drifting reefs. We caught a few more smaller ones and of course some sail cats. It was a nice afternoon. Just wish the wind would have died down a little.

I've been without a boat for about five years so we have some making up to do. I just got this one two weeks ago so we have much learning to do.

Great job with the kiddos. Nothing better than fishing with your children.

The boat I have doesn't have a trolling motor. I'm in the process of getting one but for the time being I was going to pick up a drift sock. Curious on anyone's opinion of them. The boat is a 18' Kenner.

Drift sock is a must have if you're drift fishing. Grab one at academy and experiment with it - my tie point turned out to be more towards the front of my boat to keep me broadside.
