fishing was tough some outings and great the other. Weather was hard to read. I fished from bistrop-chocolate-west...etc pretty much all over
Reds found in the grass about thigh deep on cookies.
Trout found Super Early near sand flats with spook jrs and later in about chest deep water over grass and mud with dark colored soft plastics.
Flounder caught on cookies over mud and shell amazingly. They wouldn't touch a plastic, but I had a few hammer a corky?!
It was my spring break week, so I hit it pretty hard and had a great week due to the lack of boat traffic and the amount of bait in some locations. The bait is mostly menhaden and small glass minnows and the trout are finally moving back in. I had to head back to school and didn't get a chance to fish the blackjack tournament unfortunately. Trout and reds are abundant in the green lights when your super quiet and move around from light to light. I am looking forward to a great summer in west bay! Its finally time to leave the waders at home and wet wade. Be careful near the pass, lots of sharks already and the some of the guts drop off like a shear wall from 2' to 10' in under a foot. Always wear a life jacket of some kind over there and have a quick release stringer.
GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS!
