Early Wade Today

Last night I decided to be in the water at dawn so I started my wade a little after 6:00 this morning. A beautiful sunrise, dead calm slick water with active bait.
Second or third cast toward the reef my corky devil was thumped and she came up shaking. The fish was 6#s.
About ten minutes went by and still casting over shallow knee deep shell I hooked up again. This one was 5 3/4#.
About 7:00 I caught the third fish which I strung @ 4#s and a while later the last fish a 3 1/4#.
Back home by 8:30 for huevos rancheros!

yep....and i endured all the b.s. weather down there all last week and left yesterday. way to go on that quick wade; thats my kind of fishing vs the "grind out" method.

Nice Kenny! would have made a nice tournament string. I took a ride down there on the bike a few minutes ago and might just have to go play with a few of those girls this evening. Found me a new patch of shell to crunch.

Nice job! I have yet to find big trout in west bay this winter. Reports like this remind me that i'm just a young grasshoppa lol.

There have been quite a few really good trout in West this winter. Keep lookin and if you find one there are probably more in the area. At least that is how it has been for us. Have patience to stay in one area for a long time if you get that feeling that the fish are there.
