Went out about 5:00 and waded a deep shell to mud transition. It was dead calm and a slow incoming tide. The water visibility was poor after the rain but clearing.
I was throwing the mullet pattern Corky Devil I've been catching with lately and caught a nice Redfish right off, then over the next two hours four trout that were all 3# bookends. Had one more good Red and that was it.... except on the way back to the boat (had to go bad!) I was jigging and reeling fast. I had a light hook up right at my feet I thought was a flounder but when I set the hook all heck broke loose as a big trout came up shaking and spit the jig.
The North wind picked up and it got choppy for the ride home......
Oh yeah I forgot to add that the trout were slicking.
