05 May 2010 09:28 AMWe launched out of Bastrop marina to a beautiful sunrise. I love fishing when I’m supposed to be working. Our first stop was over sand and grass, lots of bait present but no trout. We did get to sight cast to a school of reds. Next we moved over to a little cove with mud and scattered shell and picked up a few more. Then it was lake time. Talked to a couple guys fishing the channel on the way in and they caught 3 trout and a flounder. Ok so now we are in the lake and we started catching them right off. We caught several reds and two trout. One trout was a dink and the other was a brute about 22 to 23. For the day we caught 8 keeper reds, one trout and a pile of throw backs. The trout were released and we kept our 6 reds.
