Paddled over to a west end cove this evening. The wind layed down to nothing and slicks were popping up everywhere. I waded for about 1.5 hrs with nothing. Tried everything, tops, all plastics, spoon. Fished shallow, deep, near, far and couldn't get a bite. Still surounded by slicks I started back to the kayak about 7:30. Found a small clear swimming shad in my pocket and decided to give it one last try. Hammered 4 reds and 1 flounder in less than 30 mins. Had to paddled several miles back home so I left em biting. Sometimes they only want one thing. I'm glad that one thing stayed in my pocket through the washer.

Paddling back I lost count of the number of slicks through each cove. I saw a few other people out. Somebody must have hammered em.

Slicks could have been from mr slimy Gaff, thats what I found a couple weeks ago, chased those slicks for hours before i finally caught one of them.
