  • Monday Evening Slaughter

I had the itch to slime the tail tonight, so I headed out around 6pm.. James (shockwave) came over to pick something up, then i was outa here. I got to my spot at 7pm and ran up a little bayou i like to fish and started blind casting at various schools of bait. It didnt take long before i had my first red, then second, then third etc etc. I fish this bayou to the back of it and found two solid 9# slots and then headed out. Thinking my night was done since all i wanted to do was catch a few reds. All reds came off TTF killer flats minnows in pump/chart.

On the way back in about a mile outside that bayou was a nice big flock of birds working in water about 18" deep. I decided what the heck, lets try and see whats under them. I figured it was reds actually, because of how shallow it was but before long i found that there were NO reds, Just nice trout.

I fished the birds with a big pink skitterwalk for about 20 minutes and had about 15 fish, with the largest going 23".. Was a GREAT EVENING, exactly what i really needed tonight.
