Conditions
Wind - S 5
Water temp - 86
Water - clear
Bait - tons of it
Area - South Shoreline cove.
Donna and I left to dock at 6:30 to fish her birthday weekend (her real birthday is Tuesday). The plan was to hit SLP, but made the decision to hit a south shoreline cove on the way there. Got there around 6:45 and there was bait everywhere, so we jumped in. Made our way to a grassy area along a deep gut and the bait started blowing up. Donna was throwing New Penny Gulp on a 1/4oz jig head and I was throwing SS JR. Nothing hitting tops, so I switched to plum and chart tail. Good move, because the trout started nailing it. Lots of 15"-16" trout, but it was fun. Looked over and Donna was hooked up with a nice flatty, but lost it. She was mad, but kept after it. She hooked up a another and lost it as well. Now she wanted to leave and I said no way, grind it out. I hooked up on a 20" flatty and lost it right when I went to pick her up. Donna kept after and finally landed a 16" flatty, then a 15" trout and finally a 21" red to round out her slam. Left there after two hours of fishing and made a run to another SS cove and she caught another red. Called it a day after that, it was getting a little warm. Enjoy the pic.
