South shore coves gave up 17 nice trout to 23 inches and one red under popping corks while wading with Gulp Root Beet and Glow/Chartruese in a party of three. I am holding the stringer for the three of us that fished (yes, under legal limits!). Bait was about 18 inches from the surface/cork fished in about waist deep water over mud with nice water. Best bite was around 8:30 a.m. Water temp was 62 degrees. We probably caught another 20 fish including flounder and reds, all below keeper size.
I threw a Super Spook at them for about 45 minutes before switching to plastics. Nothing doing on tops lately for me. Fish are about to hit their winter pattern soon in my opinion - just on the edge now.
